You’re right. He was German in the comics. (His name was Dr. Victor Fries).

Still…they should have gotten someone else to play him in the movie.

And Robin should have been killed off in the beginning of this movie. Such an annoying little douche. I really hope Joseph Gordon-Levitt makes Robin a badass.
